Movies I Saw All The Way Through In 2012 With No Fast Forwarding or Anything #20: We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011)
One of those indie thrillers that artfully dance between moments before and after the Big Event, lest they be mistaken for a Lifetime Original. The general air of dicking around (quite a few shots of people sitting awkwardly in the lower right corner of the screen) diminishes as the film goes on, though, and we eventually get to spend quality time with the kid sociopath who drives the story. It’s definitely a step up from the last movie where Ezra Miller played an adolescent monster, and while I’m sure he’d like to broaden his resume, this guy could make some serious money if he surrenders to typecasting.
