I planned on waiting until I completed my umpteen Spotify decade-specific Top 40 playlists before posting umpteen videos of the crazy forgotten chart hits that are and aren’t available on Spotify, but HOLY SHIT some UCB sketch team needs to do a scene based on Dick & DeeDee. There was at least one week in 1964 when America couldn’t think of 20 songs they’d rather buy than this one.
(note: the K-Tel version of this track on Spotify is either a re-recording or a remix so tinny that I will not be including it on the playlist “More 60’s Silver & Bronze!” a collection of songs by people who had two or more top 40 hits in the ’60s, but not two top ten hits, and no hits in any other decades. Yes, something’s wrong with me.)
